Falcarragh is ideally located for those who love the hills, its proximity to the Derryveagh mountains gives the hillwalkers a choice of many routes. To begin the ascent of two of Donegals best known mountains Muckish & Errigal one has only to drive a very short distance from Falcarragh. Glenveagh National Park and Ards Forest Park both of which have some of Irelands most beautiful scenery offer the walkers a great variety of terrain and choice of walks and trails. North Donegal does not consist simply of mountain walks, there are also walks such as around Dunlewey Lough and Horn Head with excellent views of the higher peaks and cliffs. Of course, miles and miles of sandy beaches gives those not willing to climb a chance to walk along the seashore. Arasáin Bhalor's proprietor has a great knowledge of the local hills and is more than willing to offer advice.
